Thank you for considering a gift to CBC
through your estate plan. Your gift will enable CBC to continue
its mission of enriching the lives of New Bedford area residents through
boating by making the gift of boating and water access available to
future generations of New Bedford. By naming CBC in your estate
plan, you also become a member of the Clarke Society, named in honor of
CBC founder JoAnne Clarke. Members are recognized in various CBC
publications and are honored at an annual luncheon. When preparing
or amending your will, your attorney can use the following language to
make a gift to CBC.
A Bequest of a Specific Dollar Amount:
“I give,
devise and bequeath to Community Boating Center, Inc., a non-profit
organization located in New Bedford, Massachusetts, the specific amount
of $_________. I prefer that the bequest be used for [insert
purpose, if any] but give Community Boating Center, Inc. the
authority and discretion to apply the funds to an area of need, keeping
in mind the original purpose.”
A Bequest of Specific Property (e.g., real estate, stocks, boats)
“I give,
devise and bequeath to Community Boating Center, Inc., a non-profit
organization located in New Bedford, Massachusetts, [describe
property].
A Bequest of the Residual Estate (i.e., the property remaining in the
estate after the specific bequests have been paid)
“I give,
devise and bequeath to Community Boating Center, Inc., a non-profit
organization located in New Bedford, Massachusetts, _____% of my
residual estate. I prefer that the bequest be used for [insert
purpose, if any] but give Community Boating Center, Inc. the
authority and discretion to apply the funds to an area of need, keeping
in mind the original purpose.”
