About Us
At our core, we view ourselves as a community outreach center connecting Greater New Bedford’s youth with mentors to enhance their lives through boating. Our flagship program is our Summer Youth Sailing Program. This program is designed to be a step by step process in character development, by using sailing and boating as a tool to help instill important life lessons in our students, such as the values of integrity, sound judgment, teamwork and environmental awareness.

Art & Marine Debris
When you're looking at trash along the side of the road or at the beach, you are probably thinking about how ugly it is, not about art! Despite this, there are lots of connections between the worlds of art and marine debris and there are lots of ways that you can connect the two. If you need ideas to get you started, we've included some below.
Artists from all around the world use marine debris in their work. You can check out some of their creations by clicking on the images. We encourage you to explore and get inspired!
Washed Ashore is an organization that builds and displays sculptures.
Gyre: The Plastic Ocean was an exhibition at at the Anchorage Museum.
Cohesion and Surface Tension
Have you ever filled a glass of water to the very top and then slowly added a few more drops? Before it overflows, the water forms a dome-like shape above the rim of the glass. This dome-like shape forms due to the water molecules’ cohesive properties, or their tendency to stick to one another.
