While this fall certainly doesn’t look like last year, programs are still happening at CBC! Read below for some highlights:
- Our Sister’s School-The Sister Sailors from OSS returned to CBC last week. We see every OSS student throughout the school year. Each grade comes one day each week in the fall and spring for a couple hours of sailing.
- High School Open Sail-For the second year, we are running an open sail program for high schoolers where they are honing their racing skills under the coaching of our very own Richard Feeny and Junior Instructor Izaiah.
- Windsurfing-For the first time we are offering school year windsurfing! This group is meeting after school, twice a week, to improve on the skills they learned this past summer.
- Sailing into Knowledge-A small group of kids is coming to CBC a couple of days a week to do their distance learning with the help of our Junior Instructors. We know that they appreciate the change of scenery during their day! And it helps our JIs who didn’t go back to campus this semester.
- Adult Sailing Lessons-After focusing on youth programs for the summer, we started a session of adult beginner sailing earlier this month.

CBC can’t be stopped by 2020!

Palmer’s Island
At CBC, we strive to teach our participants how to be good ocean stewards and we know that an important part of that is that we lead by example. As part of our continued efforts on this front, we have committed, along with our partners at Operation Clean Sweep, to get many years’ worth of debris off of Palmer’s Island in New Bedford Harbor before the end of this year.
