Greater New Bedford Youth Alliance

Did you know that CBC is part of the Greater New Bedford Youth Alliance?  The Alliance is a group of 30 youth-serving organizations in New Bedford that meet regularly to “build capacity through collaboration.”

CBC staff have been part of the Alliance since it was formed almost six years ago and we still serve on the executive, marketing, transportation and data committees. Our shared goal is to increase the quality of out of school programming for New Bedford youth.

In 2019, the Alliance put together a resource guide with information on all of the programs that our different organizations offer.  You can access the guide and more info about the Alliance by visiting the website at www.gnbya.org.  We also have a shared transportation contract, which saves CBC and other individual organizations money on the buses for our summer programs, and a shared data system called Cityspan.  The Cityspan initiative allows member organizations to better measure the impact that we are having on local youth.

The Alliance also hosts an annual Resource Fair, which is open to everyone.  This year it is scheduled for May 2, 11am-2pm at the Buttonwood Park Community Center.  It’s a great chance for families to learn about program offerings, particularly for the summer.
