Support CBC's Annual Fund

YOU can change the future of our area’s youth for the better, right now, with your gift to the Community Boating Center’s (CBC) Annual Fund.  Your help and generosity will provide opportunities most children would never get the chance to experience, right here, in their own backyard.

There is no question that this year has been challenging, but CBC Summer Youth Sailing participant Darrin, age 12, said it best, “CBC can’t be stopped by 2020.”  Your support provided area youth with 10 weeks of summer programming with 70% of the children receiving financial support.  The kids, and their families, were grateful for the opportunity to come and sail with us since, for most, it was the first in-person activity that they had participated in since the pandemic began.

Looking ahead to this challenging school year, we are offering a modified version of our Sailing into Knowledge program, giving students a place to participate in their hybrid learning, while still enjoying some on-the-water activity.  This is in addition to our normal fall offerings, including after-school and school-day sailing.

The next few months, and beyond, will surely be challenging, but we are ready to continue to push ahead with our mission of instilling positive life values in youth through boating.  In order to do this, we need your help.  It’s your gift to the Annual Fund that makes all of this possible.

Thank you very much for your support!

Meet some of our team:

Shealin joined the Junior Instructor program this year after many years of particpating in our summer program.  She wants to be a role model to the next generation of sailors just as her instructors were to her.

After a total of ten years sailing and working at CBC, Nate credits the resilience and commitment of our staff, along with the cooperation of the children, as what allowed us to offer a summer that was geniune, safe, encouraged learning and, most importantly, was fun for kids who are looking for ways to better themselves.

Carlyn started sailing at CBC through Our Sisters’ School and is now an instructor.  She credits CBC with giving her a huge boost of confidence.  Sailing makes her feel more free and like she can overcome obstacles.  She loves to share this feeling with others.
